An Invitation from Bob Weiner, your County Councilman and Delaware Greenways Advisory Board member
Dear community leaders and active residents,
Would you like to become a Delaware State Parks Park Watch/ Northern Delaware Greenways [NDG] Trail Steward?
If you are a user of our trails and parks, you already know what a beautiful and wonderful resource we have. Would you like to help others enjoy our trails and have a meaningful trail experience? The Trail Steward Program is a wonderful partnership program through Delaware Greenways Inc and Delaware State Parks. In addition, New Castle County and Delaware Department of Transportation are also involved, helping to preserve, promote and ensure a safe, rewarding trail experience on the Northern Delaware Greenway Trail.
Bob Weiner, your County Councilman, has gone through the Trail Steward Training Program along with many other citizens in what is the first graduation “Class of 2010”.
Bob has also partnered the Citizens Anti-graffiti Brigade Program, which he initiated, with Park Trail Steward Program, so that citizens can assist our Delaware State Parks Department to eradicate graffiti from our parks soon as it is reported. Bob serves on the Delaware Greenways Advisory Board and is passionately engaged in protecting our precious open space, while adding more parkland and greenways.
The program guidelines and report form are attached. Also attached is a photo of Councilman Bob Weiner earning his official Park Watch Trail Steward badge and shirt.
