Important Safety Tips and District Newsletter from your Councilman Bob Weiner

Traffic Safety

We want to remind all drivers to drive with caution, watch carefully and slow down when driving through a school zone.

School zones are crowded, jammed with traffic and kids walking everywhere. The area around a school can be chaotic and confusing with parents and children everywhere in a hurry. As a driver, the most important thing you can do to protect children, is to slow down.

An entire community plays a very important role in keeping school zones safe. With the hustle and bustle during school hours it is up to each of us, including parent, child and community member to be mindful of basic safety practices. Most importantly we should slow down in our school zones.

How to Prevent Crime in Your Neighborhood

Last month, we reminded everyone of the basic safety practices to help prevent crime, such as locking your car doors and home doors, leaving nothing in plain view in our cars, leaving lights on both back and front of our homes every day and night.
