NCCo councilman to perform at synagogue's dinner
New Castle County Councilman Bob Weiner will be the featured performer Sunday at the Adas Kodesch Shel Emeth Men's Club spaghetti dinner.
Doors open at the synagogue at Washington Boulevard and Torah Way at 5:45 p.m., with dinner starting at 6 p.m. and the show at 7. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children and free for age 3 or younger, said Joel Panitz, Men's Club President.
The buffet will include meat and vegetarian spaghetti sauces, meatballs, salad, bread, beverages and dessert.
The show features Weiner and the AKSE Klezmer Band, playing Yiddish and Israeli folk music as well as klezmer, an expressive form that dates from the 15th century. Weiner, an attorney, worked his way through college and law school as a Jewish folk singer-guitarist and a singing waiter.
