The Citizens Anti-Graffiti Brigade Cleans Up Shipley Road

Today, RJ Miles (Captain of Graffiti Brigade 3, CCOBH Board member & President of McDaniel Civic Association, Isaac Walker (Captain of Graffiti Brigade 4), Eric Kardash (past President Cardiff Civic Association) and I removed the graffiti from Shipley Road near Liftwood on the supports under the CSX Railroad line.

This is part of a continuing initiative to empower and engage residents to remove graffiti, litter, illegal signage and deteriorating homes from our neighborhoods. Last fall I spearheaded the creation of 4 Citizens Anti-graffiti Brigades to help clean up our communities and in the process make our communities safer. Our partners include New Castle County government and County Police, the State of Delaware and the Delaware State Police, and our residents throughout northern Delaware. Please consider volunteering to help keep our community clean of graffiti. In doing so, you will be working with other like-minded citizens to send a message to would-be vandals and criminals that we are on guard; you are not welcome and you are likely to be apprehended. I initiated the Citizens Brigade Program to help our state and county governments to carry out their public safety mission. Government cannot be everywhere. This is a carefully crafted partnership between the citizens and our police departments.
