Shops of Brandywine Valley - queries & response: bike/pedestrian safety & access
Question regarding the exploratory plan review of The Shops at Brandywine Valley directed to the New Castle County Land Use Department professional planners: "Bicycle riders often travel on Ramsey Road. If the property on the corner of Beaver Valley and Concord Pike is developed as planned, car traffic on Ramsey Road will (also) increase. Is any provision being made to protect the safety of bicycle riders on Ramsey Road (e.g. installing a walking/riding path)?" Response from the New Castle County Land Use Department professional planners: Improvements to Ramsey Road (to become Rocky Run Parkway as realigned) will be subject to DelDOT standards for road construction. Specifications for pedestrian/bike paths within the right of way will also be decided by DelDOT. However, the Department of Land Use in its review advised the applicant to provide additional walks including the perimeter of the subject site.
