Board of Adjustment Meeting 7/9/09 - Brandywine Valley Baptist Church Sign Variance - CANCELLED

We have just been advised that the applicant requested a continuance.  No reason given has been provided to County Land Use for the continuance and no new date has been set. 

The applicant, Brandywine Valley Baptist Church, 7 Mt. Lebanon Road, is seeking a "Dimensional Variance" from the New Castle County Board of Adjustment.  The maximum sign area limitation is twenty (20) square feet as per the New Castle County Unified Development Code [Section 40.06.060, Section 1.a, Subsection ii.]  The Church is seeking permission to construct a sign which is 109 square feet.  The Church also is seeking a variance from the minimum setback requirements of 20 feet as per the Unified Development Code [Section 40.06.060, Section Section 1.a, Subsection ii.]  The Church is seeking permission for a 10.5 foot setback from the required twenty (20) foot setback. The Church must demonstrate a “hardship not of its own making”. Application submitted by Alan G. Steinle. NC 15 zoning. CD 2. (App. 2009-0296-A) TP# 06-064.00-031.
