Notice from Councilman Bob Weiner: Silverside & Marsh Road Safety Improvements-DelDOT Public Workshop Held at Brandywine Hundred County Library

DelDOT Public Workshop Held at Brandywine Hundred Library

DelDOT is holding a public workshop to obtain opinions from surrounding businesses and the general public for the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) project at the intersection of Silverside Road and Marsh Road in Wilmington, DE. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, July 21, in Room 209B of the Brandywine Hundred Branch Library, 1300 Foulk Road, Wilmington, DE. The public is invited to attend between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

The project includes the restriping of Marsh Road between Silverside Road and Veale/Wilson Roads as one lane in each direction, with a two-way left turn lane to improve safety of the turning movements into the surrounding businesses. Modifications to the entrances of the shopping centers located on Silverside Road, just west of Marsh Road are being proposed to reduce the number of accidents associated with the entrances. Pedestrian improvements will also be made, which include the addition of sidewalks, curb ramps, and crosswalks in specified locations.

"I have never been as impressed by the actions of an elected official as I have been with Councilman Bob Weiner. Whatever I ask or request, his response is immediate, even if it's something outside his jurisdiction. Bob always takes action or points me in the right direction."
