Stoltz/Concord Pike Commercial Center - Community Meeting
Wednesday July 30 at 6 PM
Brandywine Town Center Community Center (off of Naamans Road)

Here is your opportunity to make a difference while also learning the details about a commercial center proposal which, if approved, would be half the size of the Concord Mall. All residents are encouraged to attend Councilman Bob Weiner’s community meeting on Wednesday July 30 at 6 PM at the Brandywine Town Center Community Center off of Naamans Road. The purpose of the meeting is to review the Stoltz/Woodlawn Trustees REVISED EXPLORATORY PLAN to build a large commercial shopping center with some office and residential elements on Concord Pike at its intersection with Beaver Valley Road. Meeting with the applicant will assist us to prepare our testimony for the upcoming August 5 Planning Board/Land Use Department Public hearing. It is critically important that all citizens understand the plan details and the applicable law.

The Stoltz organization and Woodlawn Trustees has accepted my invitation to join us. The Council of Civic Organizations of Brandywine Hundred (CCOBH) will notify its membership of this meeting.

After my brief introductions and opening remarks, the Stoltz organization will make its presentation. This will be followed by my analysis of your application. We will then open the meeting for questions from the public.

The timing of this meeting is critically important in light of the fact that the Planning Board/Land Use Department Hearing will take place the following Tuesday August 5 at 7 PM at the Gilliam Building, 77 Reads Way, New Castle Corporate Commons, New Castle, DE. For directions contact Mark Veasey, New Castle County Land Use Department at 302-395-5510. Alternatively, you may call Louis Hinkle, my aide at 302-395-8362.

This is the Stoltz organization’s 3rd plan submission (click here to view PDF file). The prior two plans were withdrawn by the Stoltz organization because the plan was found to be unacceptable by the New Castle County Land Use Department.

I look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday July 30 at 6 PM. For additional details please visit www.bobweiner.com You can access the relevant sections of the New Castle County Unified Development Code at  www.nccde.org . Please feel free to email me with your questions.

Best wishes.
